Mental Health News for December

The Life is Better with You Here” campaign is dedicated to creating and connecting young Black adults with the resources needed to address their mental health. 

A former foster youth launches a mentorship called Big Homie Project,inspiring Black teens by connecting them with Black mentors.

 “Step Into My Shoes: Memoirs from the Other Side of America” by Micah Dawanyi is a collection of memoirs of life as a Black man. His book describes how mental health and racial trauma affects the Black community.

It’s been six months since the killing of George Floyd and young activists are saying incremental reform is not enough.  

The mental health field is mostly white, and a group of Baltimore teens is hoping to change that and help young Black people with their mental health.
